Tender tofu has magical properties as it take on whatever flavour elements its seasoned with. Here, our Butcher’s Block steps up to the plate to transform tofu into a “steak” that’s so tasty — with an earthy depth and just a kiss of heart — even meat-lovers will be craving second helpings.

What you'll need

  • 454 g of firm or extra-firm tofu, cut into 2cm. slices
  • 1 Tbsp of Kanel Butcher's Block
  • 1 - 2 Tbsp Olive Oil

Preparation

Step 1: Lightly rub tofu with olive oil, and sprinkle generously with Butcher's Block. Massage to penetrate the flavours & refrigerate for 1-3 hours. 

Step 2: Remove the tofu from the fridge and let stand at room temperature for 30 minutes to ensure quick and even cooking.

Step 3: Pan fry until the steaks are golden and crispy. Serve with fries and a nice cold brew
