What you'll need

  • 2 cups coconut flakes (the larger the better)
  • 2 tablespoons tamari or soy sauce
  • 1 Tbsp maple syrup
  • Cold Smoked Sea Salt for sprinkling
  • 1 Tbsp liquid smoke

Preparation

1. Preheat oven to 325 degrees.
2. Combine tamari, maple syrup and liquid smoke (if using) in a mixing bowl.
3. Add coconut flakes and mix gently (you want to make sure all of the coconut is coated well.)
4. Prepare baking sheet with parchment paper or reusable baking mat.
5. Scoop coated coconut flakes onto a baking sheet in a single layer using a slotted spoon.
6. Sprinkle with Cold Smoked Sea Salt.
7. Bake for 15 minutes. Every 5 minutes stir and flip the flakes on your baking tray to prevent burning.
8. Remove from oven and allow to cool.
