What you'll need

Filling:

  • 3 large apples (we love Honeycrisp)
  • 1/4 cup granulated sugar
  • 1 Tsp vanilla extract
  • 1-1/2 Tsp Cinnamon Soul
  • 2 Tbsp melted butter
  • 1 Tbsp cornstarch
  • 2 Tbsp Organic Cacao Apple Crisp

The crust:

  • 1 store bought pie crust
  • 1 tablespoon all-purpose flour
  • 1 large egg
  • 1 Tbsp cream or milk
  • Organic Cacao Apple Crisp for topping

Preparation

  1. Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and preheat your oven to 375°
  2. Core the apples and cut into 1/4″ thick slices. In a large bowl, toss the apples, sugar, vanilla, Cinnamon Soul, butter, cornstarch and Organic Cacao Apple Crisp together.
  3. Unroll the pie crust then sprinkle the flour over the top, evenly distributing it.
  4. Arrange the apple slices in the dough, overlapping them and leaving about 2” of dough around the edges.
  5. Fold the dough slightly over the edges of the apples overlapping each fold.
  6. In a small bowl, whisk the egg and cream together, then brush the crust with the egg wash. Sprinkle Organic Cacao Apple Crisp over the crust and apples.
  7. Bake 35-40 minutes or until the crust is golden and the apples are tender. Cool slightly and top with vanilla ice cream before serving.
