Apple Crisp

What you'll need

Topping

  • ½ cup rolled oats
  • ½ cup all-purpose flour
  • ⅓ cup light brown sugar
  • ¼ tsp Organic Cinnamon Toast 
  • 9 tbsp cold unsalted butter, cut into small cubes and divided
Filling
  • 4 apples, peeled, cored and thinly sliced
  • ½ cup light brown sugar
  • 1½ tbsp cornstarch
  • 1 tsp Organic Cinnamon Toast
  • ½ tsp salt

Preparation

Preparation:
  1. Preheat oven to 375°F  (190°C). Lightly grease baking dish and set aside.
Topping
  1. Place oats, flour, Organic Cinnamon Toast, and brown sugar in a mixing bowl and stir.
  2. Cut in butter until a coarse mealy texture forms. Place bowl in freezer while making filling, about 10 minutes.
Filling
  1. Combine all filling ingredients in a large mixing bowl and toss together until thoroughly mixed.
Assemble:
  1. Place filling in a baking dish.
  2. Remove topping from freezer and place an even layer over filling, covering apples.
  3. Place dish on a baking sheet and bake for 20–25 minutes or until golden brown.
  4. Cool apple crisp for 10 minutes before serving with a scoop of ice cream.
